Trips

There are a number of towns near our house that are well worth a visit, for example Vesoul, Remiremont, Plombieres-Les Bains, Luxueil-Les Bains.  Here are a few more in-depth tips.

Hiking trail around Saint-Remy. A 10km hike from the neighbouring village of Saint-Remy. There is an altitude difference of 270 metres. The walk is of medium difficulty and takes about 3.5 hours.  Click on the link for more detailed information.

A trip to the beautiful fortified town of Belfort is highly recommended. A large flea market is held in the old town every first Sunday of the month. The citadel and the Lion of Belfort are additional attractions.

A somewhat more touristy place in the Vosges. In winter it is a great ski resort, in summer you can relax by the lake at the foot of the mountain. Incidentally, you can also drive a little further and end up at Longemer, another beautiful lake among the mountains, but a little less touristy.

A 35-minute drive away is Val d'Ajol. A beautiful valley at the foot of the Vosges mountains. If you continue towards Remiremont, you will come to the Cascade du Géhard. This waterfall is in the woods and there you have a beautiful hiking area. One of our favourites.

About 15 km from our house is Source de Planey. A source that looks like an attraction at the Efteling. Clear blue water with beautiful hues in a beautiful, wooded setting.
